Tulsa Community College Shark Tank Pitch Virtual Reality Questions
Question Description
I’m working on a Communications multi-part question and need a sample draft to help me study.
- Question 1: What is your product or service? Decide on a product or service to pitch and explain it to me. This class is about presentations, not entrepreneurship, so you may decide to present a product or service that you already use and know well. In other words, you are allowed to take already existing products and services and present them as your own (though please, don’t do this on the real Shark Tank!)
- Question 2: What can you find out about your product or service? Research it in depth and write down the key features/selling points in your own words. You need to educate yourself a lot about this product before you can present it to your investors. Learn the ins and outs of the product, its development, its manufacture, its functions and uses, the landscape of competing products, and so on. Detail the highlights of that research for me in your notes.
- Question 3: What is the structure and outline of your pitch? Develop some ideas for your pitch structure and create a timeline that details the elements that will figure into your pitch. In other words, write out a loose structure and outline (with timestamps) for your pitch. Consider: What are the features you absolutely need to mention? What should you lead with? What questions are your sharks likely to have about your product, and how can you anticipate those with the content and structure of your pitch? Refer back to the readings from last week and this week to help develop your structure.
- Question 4: Will you use visual aids in your presentation, and if so, what kind? (Remember, no PowerPoint for this presentation). Use the structure of your pitch, and the product you’re pitching, to determine whether or not you should use visual aids or not. Visual aids are an optional component of this pitch – read the bullet points above for more information.
remember to 1) educate, 2) persuade, and 3) entertain!
