Question Description
The goal of this assignment is to identify the five relationship stages, discussed in lecture, in the movie Annie Hall. The stages include: Contact, Involvement, Intimacy, Deterioration, Repair, and Dissolution. In addition, to the above stages, include as many other concepts covered throughout the semester as possible. You might, for instances, mention culture, impression formation, (self fulfilling prophecy, self-serving bias etc.) listening styles, self-concept (Johari Window) attribution theory, conversation, personality theory, perception, confirming/disconfirming language, verbal/ nonverbal messages, abstract vs. concrete terms etc. In addition to the relationship stages, you are required to include at least 3 additional concepts.
Paragraph 1: Use a deductive approach (general to specific) start with some general comments regarding interpersonal communication (attention getter). Gradually move towards your thesis statement i.e., “This paper will examine the six relationship stages discussed in class as they appear in the movie Annie Hall. The paper will also analyze the concepts of self- fulfilling prophecy, disconfirming language and perception, in an attempt to provide insight into the many influences that impact all interpersonal relationships.

Paragraph 3: Discuss the third and forth relationship stages, Intimacy, Deterioration, as they appear in the movie.
