a. Summarize this information by describing the current view of Total Quality Management (TQM) in a four to seven sentence paragraph.
b. The Wikipedia article discusses the evolution into TQM in the 80’s and the 90’s. It doesn’t specifically discuss what it evolved from, but you can infer it from the article. In no more than five sentences, discuss where TQM must have evolved from during the 70’s and early 80’s. In other words, what did quality management look like during that time period?
2. Now put your answers to 1a and 1b together and write a 3 to 5 sentence paragraph regarding the evolution of quality control over the last 30 years.
3. There are a lot of functions that the purchasing department performs when it comes to Total Quality Management. At the beginning of the semester, we decided that all purchasing roles could be filed under three categories. Most, if not all, purchasing activities as related to TQM come under one of these categories. Which category of purchasing functions do TQM duties come under?
4. Communication happens between two people or entities. Make a list that shows pairs of roles that are critical points of communication for quality control. Think about the ENTIRE supply chain. After the pairing, say what these two roles must communicate on. Below is a table and an example to get you started. I’ve left 10 blank lines; do your best to fill them all.
