This module had a rudimentary introduction to the topic of same-sex marriage and homosexuality in contemporary society. In the past, in the U.S. cohabitation and homosexuality would have been seen as “alternative lifestyles.” However, cohabitation is now considered a “norm” and homosexuality is accepted as a behavioral trait that forms the identity of one of many types minority groups. The American culture continues to evolve and the topics that are “hot” (extremely interesting at the moment) or controversial are constantly changing. With that said, 1) tell me one thing you learned from the material in this module (1-2 sentences) 2) what questions do you have related to the topic of “alternative lifestyles”? Do you see this alternative lifestyle in the mainstream media, social media, public education system and/or real life? How significant does it appear to you to be?
