Bowie State University Organizational Behavior Questions

Question Description

Organizations have an impact on behavior. Take for example, Chick-Fil-le. Notice the customer service and the quality of food that is provided by the company. You can visit that restaurant in Maryland and see some of the same behaviors and tastes in food in Philadelphia, Charlotte, and other locations. Organizational behavior (OB) impacts personal success too. This restaurant is closed on Sundays, however, their profit margin has not been affected by the one day closing. Have you noticed how the long the lines are, despite which restaurant you visit?

1. Define organizational behavior (OB). Why is it important that we learn about OB? What Impact does OB have on individual behavior?

2. Discuss and define the four managerial functions. Describe these functions in an organization which you are/have been a part of and how did they impacted your performance. What kinds of organizational behaviors have changed since COVID?

Also, think about the necessary skills needed behind the scenes in order to make Chick-Fil-le successful such as technical skills, interpersonal skills, conceptual skills, and diagnostic skills.

3. From the readings, provide examples as to how these skills are used in Chick-Fil-le. Describe the competitive advantage for the restaurant.
