CUNY Lehman College Why I Did Not Join College but I Wish I Had Essay
Question Description
The title of your essay should be the same as the assignment title or some variation thereof: Why I Didn’t But Wish I Had, Why I Can’t, etc.
2. This should be a personal, exploratory essay. It can be other things too–historical, argumentative, etc.–but it is ultimately about you and your world view. Use the How To’s for guidance, the models as well, though they are of course about a different subject.
3. There should be narrative (story, anecdote), telling details, and meaning, i.e. a point, a reason for the essay to be, a purpose that it serves for you and others, though of course these purposes may not be the same.
4. As long as it could reasonably fit in an anthology of “Why I Vote, or Why I Don’t Vote” essays, it can also be about other things.
5. Think outside the box, push the envelope, avoid cliches.
6. Your essay should be 750+ words.
