ECON 3338 Dalhousie University CH19 Multivariate Regression Analysis Paper
Question Description
I’m working on a writing project and need support to help me learn.
You will be working on a project where you use multivariate regression analysis to analyzeeconomic data. You will be responsible for determining the research question, formulating theregression model, finding the relevant data and papers, performing the analysis and discussing theresults. Chapter 19 in Wooldridges Introductory Econometrics has many useful examples andsuggestions for carrying out an empirical project
I have a completed propasl, so you need to complete this project according to my proposal
Here is it
Research question:
According to Litzky, J., Boulet, S., Esfandiari, N., Zhang, Y., Kissin, D., Theiler, R., & Marsit, C. (2018), the low birth weight of infant can increase the risk of child mortality and some severe deceases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes. This project will test whether the mothers education level, smoking, unmarried and mothers age have an impression on the new birth weight.
Birthweight as my dependent variable and education, smoking, unmarried and age are my independent variables.
These data were provided by Professor Douglas Almond, Kenneth Chay, and David Lee and are a subset of the data used in their paper The Costs of Low Birth Weight, Quarterly Journal of Economics, August 2005, 120(3): 1031-1083. The file contains 3,000 observations
1.Research has shown that the amount and intensity of smoking during pregnancy is related to the birth weight of a full-term baby, according to an article Smoking During Pregnancy and Harm Reduction in Birth Weight: A Cross-Sectional Study.
2.Less education people have less knowledge about health leads to the undernutrition and underdevelopment of their infants compared to the children of highly education mothers, according to an article Does Your Education Level Affect Your Health?
