HIST 101 WNC The 16th Century Kingdom of Kush in Northern Africa Discussion

Question Description

The review will go through Turnitin for an originality report. It is worth 30% of your course grade.

You need to provide an introduction, a short summary, analysis, and a conclusion. The rest of the paper must link the film to World history. Much of the review should focus on analysis—the arguments presented and whether the film portrays history accurately and why. This will lead you to the ranking for the film—excellent, good, poor? You can also use numerical values and justify your ranking. As you analyze the film, you will need to cite some segments to support your arguments. You can also bring in the material from class materials and any outside material you may have. Cite your sources. Please refer to the film review rubric below.

Here are a few ways of approaching the assignment:

  1. Introduction which clearly articulates your argument.
  2. Summarize the film in one paragraph.
  3. What were the political, economic, and social factors responsible for the issues discussed in the film? How are the issues affecting society?
  4. What are the major arguments presented in the film? Do you agree with these arguments presented in the film? Why or why not?
  5. How does the film help us understand the importance of World history?
  6. Look at how and why the issues and views discussed in the film have changed over time.
  7. Does the film portray history accurately? How and why?
  8. You can select a few scenes from the film to support your argument.

    • This paper must be written in formal English.
    • An electronic copy of the paper must be submitted on the due date; I will not accept papers that are e-mailed to me.
    • Late assignments will be subject to a 10-point penalty per day, including weekends and holidays.
