Question Description
Instructions: students may reference the course material to respond to questions: Grigsby text, Freedom House reading. If you incorporate direct quotes from readings, you must properly attribute [i.e., according to Grigsby (pg. x) quote ].

Exam Questions: (a) answer one (1) question from each section -for a total of 3.
(b) each answer should be 1-2 paragraphs in length

Section I: Grigsby chpt. 1(Introduction)
1. In the Introduction (chpt. 1) of her text, Ellen Grigsby provides several options for expressing the meaning of politics. From among the several options she offers, which do you find most useful? That is, which explanation of what politics is provided by Grigsby is most helpful to you?Briefly explain why you find the option chosen most useful/helpful.
2. The study of politics and the discipline of political science are separate but inter-related fields of investigation. What is the difference between politics and political science? How has the study of politics become a science?
Section II: Grigsby chpt. 2 and Freedom House essay
