Research Proposal chapters 1-3
Students will design a research project and submit a research proposal. It is important early in the session to work diligently on identifying a research question, conducting a literature review of your topic (i.e., what have past researchers done), and present your hypotheses. Your research question must be approved by the instructor. Students will also be required to submit a typed research proposal using the guidelines found in the current edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition). The research proposal will identify a valid research question, state the experimental and null hypotheses, the proposed method for gathering research data (i.e. What are the steps in the actual experiment), and existing research studies on the topic in addition to other requirements stated by the instructor. The proposal should be 8-10 pages in length.
As a portion of your project design, you will locate a minimum of six professional PEER REVIEWED journal articles to use as sources in your literature review. The research proposal example was provided in Canvas under Additional Course Information, please review that example as you put your proposal together. Please make sure you use the Research Proposal Template 2020 provided in that same area for your research proposal.
Please beware that papers must be written in APA style. Grammar, spelling, and content errors will result in deductions in the final grade of the paper. Plagiarism is representing someone elses words, ideas, artistry, or data as ones own, including copying another persons work (including published and unpublished material from the Internet) without appropriate referencing, presenting someone elses opinions and theories as ones own, or working jointly on a project, then submitting it as ones own. Please note that plagiarism will result in a failing grade for the assignment and further actions according to the Mercer University student handbook.
