Your Assignment:

Gather data from the memories of your upbringing (your cultural programming) Make sure those memories are as specific as possible. Using examples from your past listed in your notes, write a work of at least 1000- words that references at least five of the cultural frameworks and provides examples of these frameworks from your own life.

This is an assignment that combines the academic with the personal. You will have to give me some explanation of the frameworks in Chapter Six, so I know that you understand them, but you need to combine this with something that personalizes this assignment.

Then, use those frameworks to create something of value for your family, for future generations, or something you would like to share with those who are important to you. This could be a photo album, a recipe book, a coloring book, but whatever it is, it should have lasting value for your own “people” in particular, whoever they may be.

Your writing should reflect an understanding of the cultural frameworks that you choose. By reading your work, I will be able to say with confidence that you understood the cultural frameworks you covered.

I will also see that this paper isn’t a first draft, and you have gone over it and edited it.

I want to see that you have incorporated some of your interview questions into demonstrating ways in which your upbringing/family reflects these frameworks.
