We will discuss what a focus group is, its value as a source of qualitative information, and how to conduct one in class.
In addition to the basic focus group experience described above, a product area-specific goal is to obtain information regarding your product area, such as: usage behavior, likes/dislikes, improvements or new products they might want to see, factors that lead to the purchase decision, etc. You should also learn about the vocabulary they use to describe products.
1. A summary of who participated in your focus group (including relevant characteristics and background). Again, do not record actual names of your participants.
2. A summary of your focus group findings, addressing currently available products and possible improvements and/or new products.
