In this board I want you to debate Malcolm Gladwell’s analysis of Harris and her contribution to the field of childhood development and psychology. Gladwell gives significant insight into her work and applies her theories to a variety of settings. At its core, Harris argues that a child’s personality and character is often not shaped by one’s parents and that a child is equally responsible for their future outcomes. Given what you read for this week, I wanted you to agree or disagree with Harris. Your argument must be 2-3 paragraphs in length, must be supported with at least two, specific points from the other readings, and must incorporate one example (not from the readings). This example can be personal or can be a current event and/or an example from media. Additionally, you must address at least one of the parenting styles we covered. Please take time to craft your response so it meets all these requirements.
