WRK 100 Strayer Week 08 Preparing for the Future of Work Problem Solving Discussion
Question Description
Part 1:
You use your problem solving skill every day, even when you dont realize it. For example, maybe you need to be at work for an important meeting, but your child is sick. How do you make arrangements so you can get to your meeting?
Or imagine youre trying to make pancakes on Sunday morning, and you have one egg when the recipe calls for two. How do you finish your mix?
Or maybe your rent is due tomorrow, but youre short $150. What do you do?
- In paragraph 1, share a problem youve recently encountered in your own life and outline the steps you took to solve it. What were the possible solutions? (For example, if you knew you were going to be short on rent, would you borrow the money or ask your landlord for an extension, and why?)
- In paragraph 2, explain how you determined the best course of action for your situation. In the end, how did you ultimately solve the problem?
Remember to answer each part of the question in 2 paragraphs. Each paragraph should be 5-7 sentences with limited grammatical errors (total 10-14 sentences). Also, respond to at least 1 of your peers (at least 1-2 sentences).
Part 2: Respond to Tameka McNair
Problems arise every day throughout the day but coming up with reasonable solutions to de-escalate the situation is apart of living. A recent complication that surfaced in my life is being in a hit-and-run car accident. Unfortunately, I was unable to write down the license plate due to my grandchild being in the backseat. Neither of us had any injuries, but the tail lights of my car were broken. The only logical solution was to call the police.
Having a police report is helpful and can simplify the claims process, which is why I decided to call the police. Once that was over, I contacted my insurance company and filed a claim. This was the most frustrating part because I was answering the same questions repeatedly. After filing my claim, my insurance company sent me to an autobody shop downtown to get my vehicle repaired. I ended up paying $500 out-of-pocket for damages but compared to $3,000 that was nothing.
